If you are still stuck, or going for mastery, continue reading. Please let me know if you find this article helpful and or confusing Up and coming actress Meryl Regis has died in an suspicious rehearsal at the Colossus Theatre. Go with Nick Stokes to see if you can figure out what happened!
COLOSSUS THEATER Talk to Heather Colby, the victim’s co-star. She will give you the location to the Prop Room backstage. Talk to husband of the victim, Clayton Regis. I then examine the body. Things to notice: 1) lower gun shot wound. Listen to Nick and then Swab the wound. 2) upper “gun shot wound”. Pick up the squib. 3) look at her face. UV her left cheek to see what’s under the heavy makeup. Ouch the bruising looks painful! Look around the stage for more evidence… 1) Look at the mark on the floor next to Heather. 2) Look at the nightstand next to the bed. Pick up the gun. Zoom in on the gun in your inventory, especially around the barrel end. Swab the dust for a sample. Talk to Heather again for more info. Go to the PROP ROOM. Look around… 1) look at the rifle rack on the right wall 2) look in the open locker on the far wall. Pick up the running shoe. Look at the middle photo. Pick it up- it will be handy. 3) Work bench. Stuff to notice… a) larger box of blank rounds- take a sample b) smaller unspent rounds box- look at it for now. c) look at the missing tool space on the wall 4) oh look at water cooler... a leak? Go to the MORGUE. Get Doc to recover the body. Ask him questions (see a gun shot to the heart video). Doc will give you bullet fragments from the body. Zoom in on the fragments in your inventory. If you missed picking up the squib, swabbing the lower gun shot wound or UVing the face, you can do that here by looking at the body. BRASS- ask Brass to confirm Clayton Regis’ internet alibi.
Go to the LAB- give Greg the new evidence. [if you did not zoom in on the bullet fragment before, do it now and rehand the fragment to Greg.] He will tell you the bullet is a .22 calibre, and if you can find a tool and or other bullets to compare with, he can compare the marks on the bullet. You also get to watch a squib video.
MICROSCOPE- look at the photo. It will zoom in on the photo and probably blind Nick will confirm that the bruise on Meryl’s face was there before the murder. COMPUTER- search shoe tread (to be thorough) and DNA (no matches yet). Revisit the PROP ROOM. Look at the small box on the workbench and Nick will let you pick up the .22 calibre bullet.
LAB- give Greg the .22 bullet to match with the body fragment. THEATRE- Talk to Heather Colby again.
MORGUE- Now you can look at the body and take a microsil case of the lower wound (you need this for trajectory testing).
LAB- take microsil cast to Greg who casts doubt on whether Heather could have done it. THEATRE- Do Trajectory Test (TT) #1 by clicking on dummy. Switch on laser and exit. Investigate the orchestra pit area and find an electrical transmitter (detonator). Dust for a print just below the green button. Pick up the transmitter.
Talk to Heather about the pit. LAB- give print and transmitter (detonator) to Greg. COMPUTER- search print – match to Gus Harrison, the prop manager and see his rap sheet! BRASS- get Gus Harrison in for interrogation. He will tell you what happened during rehearsal [see a video]. Ask all the questions you can!!. Gus will give you his square folding tool at the end.
THEATRE- do TT#2 by clicking on dummy on floor. Turn on laser and exit.
Box seat area- look around for evidence… 1) notice left track of prints- running away. Electrostat prints. 2) Notice right track of prints- loafers. Electrostat prints. 3) Swab water stain in front of right seat. 4) Look at railing. Adhesive mount [jar] sample of powder on the railing. LAB- give new evidence to Greg. He will rule out Gus’ tool.
COMPUTER- search: 1) loafer prints- size 10 Bruno Pagli 2) running prints- cross trainers size 10. Match to shoe from locker! 3) Search water stain sample- Municipal supply. BRASS- get some addresses- Heather’s and Meryl’s and Clayton’s.
While you’re there, re-interrogate Gus Harrison for even more info. COLBY HOME (living room) Heather lives pretty slobbily :P Talk to Heather.
REGIS HOME (kitchen)- talk to Clayton. BRASS- ask a for a warrant to search Heather Colby’s apartment. Go back to COLBY HOME- tell Heather you have a warrant and look around for evidence… 1) pick up the underwear under the couch. Look at it again in your inventory, UV for a surprising find! 2) Look at the paper on the coffee table. Ninhydrin the smudgy spot for a print. Pick up the letter. 3) Look at the diploma on the wall.
LAB- Give evidence to Greg. Gee the FBI handwriting Analyzers are fast! COMPUTER- compare the fingerprints [no match!]. Search the letter print [no match again]. BUT… match the DNA samples!! Go to the REGIS HOME and ask Clayton if he knows anything about Meryl and Heather’s relationship.
BRASS- ask Brass to check if Clayton has a diploma. Ok, so now he’s a not particularly successful screenwriter, who could have been a doctor, who specializes in sharp shooting. Now I’m really creeped out!
Interrogate Heather Colby. [If you did not interrogate Gus Harrison for the second time, do it again now.] REGIS HOME- Talk to Clayton again.
BRASS- get warrant to search Regis home. REGIS HOME- tell Clayton you have a warrant, and look around… 1) SINK AREA a) pick up the thermos b) pick up the bar of soap with holes in it! 2) OPEN DRAWER- pick up the pliers 3) SHOE RACK- take Clayon’s loafers. 4) Look at the heart sculpture on the shelf [above the shoe rack] LAB- give the new stuff to Greg. Apparently he likes the shoes- now we know what to buy him for his birthday… :P
COMPUTER- 1) match the loafer prints to the ones from the box seats 2) search the thermos of water sample. Look it’s also from a municipal supply and has similar chemical composition as the water stain! BRASS- get an interrogation with Clayton Regis. He will deny everything, but give you his prints at the end.
LAB- get Greg to put Clayton’s prints in the computer.
COMPUTER- match Clayton’s prints to the letter print. BRASS- haul Clayton in again for interrogation. Nick gets Clayton to give up quickly. Yeah! We’re done!... though someone should tell Grissom that the Mythbusters proved that ice bullets aren’t very practical and don’t work at all ;P Take the Quiz- [I only seem to get questions about Heather Colby’s messy apartment], and move on to the last case!
