NOTES:
1) For questioning, I assume Auto Evidence Questions is on: Otherwise, it wil be necessary to drag 'n' drop evidence onto characters to ask the necessary questions
2) All evidence should, of course, be passed to Valera for initial processing
3) Familiarity with equipment and processing techniques is taken as read
4) I also assume all DNA and prints are subjected to a search plus a cross-comparison with other samples
5) If you've got Evidence Tagging on, some evidence, such as DNA samples, may not be tagged as complete until you have subjected it to a search (and, possibly, matched it with one of the result set) AND cross-matched it with (an) other sample(s)

INTRO
A woman has been found dead aboard an unidentified boat.
Crime Scene (boat):
Meet Eric Delko:
He comments that it's cool 'cause the air conditioning's been left on: (This could impact on determining the time of death)
NOTE: If you are using Navigation Hotspots: Reflections of the body area, in the wall mirrors, also act as hotspots for body close-up. The lamp on the right (background), can also behave in the same way. This can be misleading (and annoying?).
Examine the body:
1) Vic was shot in the head
2) Click on her head: She was also strangled! (Can't close in on wound or neck bruising - yet)
3) Back out and click on hand: There are rope burns on the wrist
4) On the red cover in front of the vic's face: Click on white stain (streak): UV it: It fluoresces (body fluid - guess which?):
4-b) Click on the stain with the UV (Eric comments) then swab it
5) Left of bed, under painting: Click on the greyish object: It's duct tape: Collect it
6) Also to left, on floor by large mirror: Click on and collect the rope
7) To right of bed, on the far wall, there is a mask on wall: Click twice on it to reveal hidden camera
8) Also to right, by the other mirror: Close in on the waste paper basket and collect the torn photo
9) Pan clockwise past Delko and bar: Click on the black door to open it:
9-a) Click on camera (top corner)
9-b) Click on empty shelf space: There is some equipment missing: (Eric takes a photo)
9-c) On the bottom, close up on and collect the top tape off the pile of tapes on the right
Morgue
Get Alexx to recover the body
1) How long has the victim been dead? Maybe 48 hours.
2) Did the vic have intercourse recently? Yes:
2-a) Vaginal tearing would suggest rape, but there's no evidence of struggle or any attacker's skin under the nails
2-b) Alexx gives a semen sample recovered from the vic
3) Maybe dealing with a sexual predator or, maybe, voluntary rough sex play
4) Was she unconscious when killed?; Possibly, maybe drugged though inhalation?
5) Examine the body:
5-a) Close up on marks on wrist and neck (as noted before)
5-b) Head wound: The bullet did not exit the brain
6) Ask Alexx for the recovered bullet
Lab: (submit all new evidence to Valera and process):
1) DNA (bed stain): No match on CODIS: Doesn't match sample (next item)
2) DNA (semen from victim): No match on CODIS: Doesn't match previous item
3) Torn photo: Put together on Assembly Table: It'a a photo of a boat - The "Miss Fortune"
3-b) Reassembled photo: Search link reveals it was registered to Ella Sinclair:
3-c) The boat matches the description given in a 911 call (see Yelina)
4) Bullet: .22 caliber
5) Rope: Examine fibres: We'll need another sample to match to
6) Duct tape: Examine: We need more to match up
7) Video: "Home-made" porn movie
Yelina:
Get info on the 911 call:
1) Whose phone was the call made from?: Thad Wilson (new location)
2) Listen to recording of call and add to evidence (voice print): It's a Latina voice
Lab:
You can drop off that voice print for analysis: Look at it and search, if you want (no results)
Or you can wait till you've got another sample to compare it to
Waterfront:
Talk to the girl (Aren't you Julia Alvarez!?): She's Thad Wilson's wife:
1) Did she make 911 call?: No
2) Where's Thad: Out
3) Any other women around who might've made the call?: No! (She take's it a bit personally!)
Yelina
Get an audio clip of la Alvarez for comparison with 911 call
Lab
Compare spectrographs (911 and Julia): Confirm match
NOTE: I wasn't sure exactly how to assess the match but, since Delko doesn't say they DON'T match, I assumed they did
Waterfront:
Julia still denies making the call call even when Delko threatens to take her "downtown": So let's do that
Yelina
Get warrant for Ms Alvarez: and interrogate: (You might note the bruises on her neck)
At first she says she can't afford to get mixed up in this because it's bad publicity and she only knows as much as she said in 911 call.
Then she agrees to questioning:
1) What did she see?: She came home from charity event (Palm Glen), found boat, went aboard to tell off captain and found body.
When she went to call 911, the boat moved off
2) Why did she hang up ?: She thought she'd jumped to wrong conclusion, "dead" girl was only drunk and had now driven the boat out
3) Where was Thad?: She had told him to stay at the Palm Glen:
4) She had left 'cause she was fed up, didn't want to sing with amateur band, noise, people etc
5) And where's Thad now?: Probably home
6) Had she seen the dead woman before?: No, nor the boat
Waterfront
Talk to Thad:
1) He confirms they were at Palm Glen but says Julia left 'cause they had a fight: Then he walked around outside by himself
2) Says they don't have a boat; None of their friends has a boat
3) How did he cut his hand?: An accident, gutting fish
4) Can we look around the dock?: Yes, but he warns a swarm of seagulls came in and left a lot droppings; He hasn't been out there since
Look around: Click on dock behind Delko to access it:
1) On the right, by the base of the post, Close up on and swab the blood (Is it Thad's?)
2) Carry on, past the bucket (pail) and, by base of 2nd post on right, click on and collect the shoe print (Adhesive Lifter)
3) Click on the jetty to the right, at the end of the main dock, to move there:
3-a) Click on the mooring post on the far side: Use the scope to click on and zoom in on the red fibres near the base: Collect them
Lab
1) DNA (blood): No match on Codis but it matches semen from bed: We need to cross-match with a reference sample from Thad
2) Shoe print: No match in search results
3) Rope fibres: Match rope from crime scene
Waterfront:
Thad:
1) Was he ever on the "Miss Fortune"?: He denies it, even when confronted with semen evidence
2) Ask for a DNA sample: He says we'll need a warrant
Yelina:
Re-interview Julia:
1) Tell her Thad says they had a fight at Palm Glen: She admits it
2) Was it over an other woman?: She says Thad is seeing a sex therapist: She mentions some "Internet embarrassment" that's bad for her image etc
3) Who is the therapist?: Ella Sinclair: She's a fraud; She's really a porn star: A movie of Ella and Thad was published on the Net
4) How did she find out?: Someone told her it: She confirmed it on the Web: Hence the fight
(You could try to get that warrant for Thad but no go)
Waterfront:
Thad:
1) Ask about the web video?
2) Does he know Ella Sinclair? No:
3) Mention about his semen being found: He says she called herself Stella Clair
4) She was "prescribed" by his psychologist as a sexual surrogate: He knew about the tapes; they were to monitor his progress
4-a) He Mentions Troy taking the tapes (did he put the footage on the Internet?)
4) Who's Troy?: His psychologist, Troy Sullivan: Delko knows him; he's an expert witness
5) What was Julia's reaction?: She "blew her stack" etc
6) Does he own a gun? : No but Julia carries one everywhere with her
Yelina:
1) Check alias Ella Sinclair = Stella Clair: She's a porn star and has several busts for prostitution
2) Get the address of Troy Sullivan: (New location)
Julia:
Get her gun
Lab:
1) Gun (Julia): Search reveals it's registered to Thad (He said he didn't own a gun)
2) Bullet (Julia's gun): Is a.22 caliber but doesn't match bullet from vic
Waterfront:
Thad:
Ask about the gun?: He bought it for Julia
Troy Sullivan's Home:
Talk to Troy:
1) Does he know Thad?: Yes but doctor/patient privilege prevents him from discussing his case
2) And Julia?: Doesn't everyone know her?
3) And Ella Sinclair?: Yes, she's a therapist: He referred patients to her
4) Did he know she was a porn star?: What? He says she's a highly-qualified, intelligent professional
Yelina:
Get her to bring Sullivan in to talk ...
... Now that we've gone through legal channels, he'll cooperate:
1) Could Thad be the murderer?: He needs to dominate, and has been known to get out of control
2) Thad likes to use asphyxia during sex: The less the partner likes it, the more he is aroused
3) Did he know Ella was porn star (Again?): He says porn films are prescibed to patients
4) Ella specialized in retraining men with dangerous sexual behaviour
Interview Julia
1) Has Thad ever been violent to her?: Yes, he likes rough play during sex
2) Why did she have Thad's gun: It's hers, he bought it for her
(You could see Thad, but he has nothing to say)
Get a warrant for Thad (interrogate and get his DNA):
1) Did he kill Ella: No: He hadn't had an appointment with her for over a week
2) Has he got an alibi?: Repeats he was at the golf course, walking around; He wasn't on the boat
3) Could Julia have killed her?: No, she's a gentle soul
4) Thad's comment about not leaving evidence hanging around leads Eric to suggest an underwater search (see Yelina)
4) Get DNA sample
Lab:
DNA (Thad): Match to semen stain (boat) and blood (dock)
Yelina:
Get info on where to dive to search for the murder weapon (new location)
Dive site:
1) Centre foreground: Close up on the group of small rocks: Collect the cell phone
2) Left mid-ground, on the large rock near the post: Close in on the bag and click to open:

3) Bottle: May have been used as a home-made silencer
4) Duct tape (neck of bottle): Match to roll of tape from crime scene
5) Electrical equipment: Hight-tech, high-end:Not likely to have been just thrown away
Eric has suggested we see Yelina, so let's go...
...Yelina:
1) Ask for more info on diving for murder weapon
2) Get better gear to be able to extend search area
Dive site:
1) Close up on the large rock to right of the post in the background: Close up on hole
2) Shine flashlight (torch) into the hole and discover the gun

Question Julia:
Did Troy lend her his gun?: She's unforthcoming
NOTE: Didn't Troy say he lent it to Ella? So, why are we asking Julia?
Lab:
Print (Sullivan): Match to duct tape print (no match on AFIS)
Yelina:
Talk to Troy again:
Ask about his print on the tape: He says he has duct tape at home: Maybe someone borrowed it or is framing him?
