CSI:LA Game rules - Please read before posting

Welcome to Forum CSI, AKA.....CSI:LA
it is a fun game where you solve the crime
i will describe a case and a crime scene
you will examine a crime scene scene and ask questions
and i will answer your questions with details on that part of the scene/crime
THIS GAME HAS NO AFFILATION WITH CSI OR CBS PRODUCTIONS

What to do:
the point of the game is to solve the crime
i will lay out a crime scene with general descriptions of the scene and crime (sometimes i use photos)
at the bottom i will place "options" wich when "opened" will give you more detail on that person/object/place as well as more options to open
you also have the ability to ask questions not listed in my options, read more on that below


Rules:
- you can only open one option per post
- only one side question (a nonlisted question) can be asked per post
- after you make a post you must wait for someone else to take a turn before you can go again
i will underline the name of who i am responding to at the top of my reply, i may have multiple replys in one post
- do not post who you think committed the crime on the forum, send me a private message with the suspect (or suspects) and the means, motive, and oppertunity of the crime, i will reply and say if you are correct or not
- every player gets three guesses at the final solution
when you post for the first time i will add your name to the first post in the topic along with your three guesses
- if you run out of guesses you are out for the rest of the story
- once 3 people have given the correct solution i will write a final post with the solution and the end scene, i will then close the thread
- after a case is finished i will prepare the next case

the post has one of my options and a side question
a side question is not required though, all you need to have in a post is one of my options

Advanced rules:
sometimes we will go back to things
i have written several points in the story where something is overlooked and it is found on a second look
but the option to look again will only appear when relevant

and i will only answer options and side questions one time
so be sure you are not repeating anyone, or else your post will be deleted

unopened options are marked in green
also i will mark an option in blue once it has been asked and answered

once all options have been "opened" i will highlight all the important info red in the story

now, it is possible to win prior to all the options being opened
all that matters is that you have the key peices of evidence, the correct suspect/s, and the means, motive and, oppertunity of the crime


Intergating suspects:
when you see a line saying the interogation scene for________ is now open, you can now interogate/ ask questions to that person

to ask a suspect/ character a question place the persons name in "( )" before the question
example: (robert) did you kill jane?
the characters answer will appear in the same post beneath your question
example: "killed, i did not even know jane was dead" - robert
but if something important is larrned/found
a new option will open and the reply will be in the next post

the question feature is always open for the main characters in the story
you can ask them to give more detail on an option that has already been opened
and make sure you ask you question to the right person
(the person whos specialty matches what you are asking about) read the updated bios below to find what the characters are good at

you can also examine something on a person
after i say "the search option is now open for________"
you can examine something on a person and ask a question as well
to examine something on some
put the word "examine" in "( )"
example: (examine) roberts shoes
BUT- you cannot examine 2 things or ask 2 questions per post
only one "examine" and one question per post
and the search feature on the main characters is always closed

interogation rules:
only one question and one examine can be asked at a time
if you want you can only include a "examine" if you want a question is not required

and be specific in you examine posts
do not say (examine clothes) be specific

and do not edit anything in your post after i place an answer in it
if you do i will take away one of your 3 "guesses"
(this is to prevent someone editing the answer to make them say something like "i confess")
if 2 people ask 2 diffrent questions i will mark who the character is responding to before the quote

you may ask as many questions as you wish, but you can only open one option in each turn

Setting:
the game takes place in los angelas ca
the group of people investigating is called the "Special investigative Unit" or SIU
they are a group of elete crime scene investigators working for the FBI on unique and high priority cases

Characters: ( name (age) - background )
Jake Fairewell (37) (ballistics, weapons analysis, patterns and depressions, toolmarks)- the head of SIU, and makes sure everyone knows it. he was in an accident and had his right arm injured. he later had reconstructive surgery on his arm
the full extent of his injury is unknown, but he has full functionality of his arm and hand so you would not know about it unless someone told you.

Jason Beck (34) (trace and fingerprints) - jakes right hand man. the two are old friends since they were both rookies. always calm and has an eye for detail, jason is the only person who knows about jakes injury and he is not telling.

Emily Loffberg(26) (questioned documents and computer, personal, and scene searches)- the new girl. fresh from flordia university. she is giddy and enjoys going to work. although jake tries to bring her down to earth by making her do "rookie" work

Joseph Massen (64)(aka joey) (autopsy and pathology)- the resident Medical Examiner. an old, wise, quiet guy. likes to keep to himself, but bring in a body and he will tell you everything you want to know, maybe somethings you do not want to know

Julia Kipp (33) (aka julie) (DNA and toxicology) - resident dna analysist, cool and down to earth. she still thinks shes 18, rap and hiphop can often be heard from her lab
more characters will appear as time goes on
