CSI:LA Case 1 - The Traffic Was Murder Current Players And Guesses Remaining: (write a reply and i will add you to the list) Poseidon - Complete Tracy-lee Smith [X][X][X] Shocker - Complete CSI:Outcast [X][X][X] People who have guessed correctly: Poseidon, and Shocker PLEASE READ THE GAME RULES HERE BEFORE POSTING Case number one: it is 11 am in LA. on sunday april 12 2006 jake fairfell and his team have been called to the intersection of vanadium and cressant ave the scene is a large 4 lane intersection near a large mall in the center of the intersection is a large pileup five cars are involved but it seems that 3 cars were the cause of the crash all vehicles involved are totaled and it seems that the crash happened at a high rate of speed a car in the northwest corner of the intersection is a blue toyota carolla the driver door is wide open and the driver is hanging out the side of the car with his back on the pavement and his legs still inside the car he has a single medium cailber gunshot wound right between his eyes it appears that someone opened the door, shot him, and he then fell out of the vehicle in the middle of the intersection is a white chevy s10 van flipped over on its roof the driver of the van is in the middle of the intersection with his head almost blown off, most likely with a shotgun his blood is smeard all over the driver side of the van from the spill pattern the driver was shot while the van was upside down a series of tire tracks run from about one foot away from the rear doors of the van to the outbound lane of the intersection a request is put in for the traffic footage to identify the mystery vehicle the only two victims are the blue car driver and the person next to the van all the other drivers were spared for some reason and no one involved saw or rememberd anything (everyone was too concerned with their insurance than to look around) jake then notices the van is an unmarked armored van closer inspection of the driver door on the van indicates it was pried open with the jaws of life but the fire dept had not used the jaws of life on any vehicles involved jake opens the rear doors of the van to find another person in the rear of the van, he has a large bruise on his right temple and has a transport log clutched in his right hand suddenly...... "WE NEED A MEDIC !" the man in the back of the van is alive Crime scene photo: ![]() -------------------------- Welcome To CSI:LA -------------------------- here are the avalable options 1a examine the blue car vic ( russel ferberger ) - ANSWERED 1b examine the blue car - ANSWERED 2a examine the van vic ( chris micheals ) - ANSWERED 2b examine the front driver door of the van - ANSWERED 2c examine the front interior of the van - ANSWERED 2d examine the rear door of the van - ANSWERED 2e examine the rear interior of the van - ANSWERED 2f question the van survivor ( michael christophe ) - ANSWERED 3a examine the unidenifed tire tracks - ANSWERED 3b check the traffic camera footage - ANSWERED 4a reconstruct the crash - ANSWERED Last edited by Dangerzone : February 17th, 2006 at 01:28 PM.

poseidons request the closest option to what you asked is 1a examine the blue car vic ( russel ferberger ) ----------- the scene around th vic is analized and joey performs an autopsy on the vic T.O.D. was aprox. 15 min. before the first responce to the accident he had a bruise on his chest consistant with that of a seatbelt his head wound was a through and through wound but a small peice of copper jacket was embedded in the back of the vics scalp in the opposide direction as the exit wound the only way this could happen is if the bullet hit something hard enough to fragment right after exiting his head wich would send peices of the bullet in all directions, including back toward the exit wound and since nothing in the car is hard enough to do that, this means he was shot outside the vehicle and the bullet fragmanted upon contact with the pavement but this was originally hidden because the blood pool covered up the impact forrow in the road on a trip back to the crime scene all peices of the bullet were recovered a ballistics match is possible if the weapon is found one peice of the bullet that was found nearby (about a foot away from russels head) had some unusual trace that the other fragments did not have this means that fragment hit something after exiting the vic's head and fragmenting on the road Jason's trace report on the fragment came back - leather - waterproof fabric glue - steel - brain matter ( russel ferberger ) ![]() -------------- new options 1c what is the meaning of the trace on the bullet - ANSWERED 1e examine the victims clothing for trace - ANSWERED - Last edited by Dangerzone : February 15th, 2006 at 06:55 PM.

Poseidons free request (he was not aware of the full rules so i gave him a second turn) the other 3 cars were 1999 jeep wrangler -green 1996 chevy camaro - red 2000 ford focus - silver ---------- 1b examine the blue car ---------- Emily examines the car at the scene the car had extreme front end damage 90% of the paint transfer on the front of the car was white paint the white paint matches the paint of the armored van the trunk is damaged from another car crashing into the back of the car, and the trunk is not openable at the current time inside the car a glock 9mm is found ![]() the gun has no serial number, meaning it is a disposable firearm ( a gun made entirely from replacement parts, meaning it has no serial number) the gun matches the fragmants from the bullet that killed russel ferberger the gun is clean, no prints, no trace it appears that the killer shot russel then wiped the gun and tossed it in the car (it is also possible that the killer was wearing gloves) ---------------- new option 1d tow the car back to the garage and force open the trunk - ANSWERED Last edited by Dangerzone : February 13th, 2006 at 10:52 AM.

Tracy-lee Smith's request 1d tow the car back to the garage and force open the trunk ----------- before moving the vehicle you notice a metal tube sticking out from the rear of the car is is a remmington .22 rifle ![]() the weapon was recently fired, the last person to use the gun did not reload because the empty shell is still in the barrel it also appears that one of the two clips holding the scope in place is missing ![]() once again this gun is clean, no prints however jason finds there are skin cells stuck in the butt of the stock, possibly from the last person to use the gun however the DNA is "unknown" in codis there is also some dirt on the bottom of the gun, wich matches the dirt from around the intersection as well as some lialic pollen, this puts the shooters perch low down on the ground hiding in a flower bed in the south east corner of the intersection directly across from the blue carolla however no clues were found at the snipers post other than the outline of the shooter in the flattened flowers wich only gives us his height 6'2" after towing the car back to the garage and prying open the trunk you find the trunk of the car is empty "it is possible that russel ferberger was an innocent bystander, but why kill him and not all the other people involved in the crash as well" - asked jason ----------- there are no new options Last edited by Dangerzone : February 15th, 2006 at 06:56 PM.

Shocker's Request 3b check the traffic camera footage ------------ arriving at the traffic control center jake finds that traffic is still moving just fine through the intersection however the road is still closed and the only vehicle removed from the scene was the blue carolla it seems that the traffic camera was some how wired on a four hour loop examination of the pole the camera is on reveals that the access pannel near the bottom of the pole has been forced open the lock was drilled out with a 1/2 inch bit it was drilled out for at least a week ago due to the dirt buidup in the hole inside the pannel was a small remote control box with a time delay built in the box was hardwired into the camers and traffic lights however the logs report that there was no abnormality in the traffic light patterns on the day of the crash "but why go through the trouble of rigging the traffic lights to cause a crash, but not use it, and if it was not the lights that caused this, what did ?" - Jake all tests on the remote box yeilded nothing it was made and installed while someone was wearing gloves but the solder used to put it to gether was an indrustrial high strength corrosion resistant solder, and only 300 dealers carry the solder in ca. ![]() ----------- there are no new options Last edited by Dangerzone : February 15th, 2006 at 06:57 PM.
