XBOX Case 6 (DM case 1- Daredevil Disaster) return spring - how to put it together

I am stuck on the first case. I have both of the pieces to the spring but I cannot get them together. I keep reading everywhere to "double click" on the spring parts to bring up an info window, but that only works on the PC not the XBOX version of the game. Am I missing something? I cannot get the info window to pop up on the XBOX. Any help would be appreciated.

for xbox here is what you do

go to the lab
highlight one peice of the spring in your evidence bar
press Y - to bring up the info on the evidence
press A - to bring up a close up of the object
you will now have a large wiew of the one spring peice
select the other peice of the spring from the evidence bar
( yau may have to press B to get your sursor to change back to an arrow)
click the other peice of spring and dragg it into the window and push A
(you may have to do it a few times before they assemble)

after the 2 peices are assembled, click on the joint to bring up the fan, and use the mag. scope on the joint

then give the spring to greg

I am having trouble with the spring also. I have followed the directions precisely, but still, no progress!! How many times is a few? I have tried it at least 15 times!!!! I am so going to throw this game in the street.

I have found it. In order to combine the two springs, you do the whole big spring, Y then A, then drag the smaller. The catch is that you have to get it on the right spot. That is just a little bit below the edge.
