Thumbs up Forum Rules and Tips- Please read before posting! :)

Hi everyone!

Please read before posting- this contains important rules and information that concerns how this site will be monitored. They are designed to keep everyone safe and happy.

CSIGAMER.COM Rules
-------------------------

At csi gamer we do not have very strict rules, but we still have rules that everyone should live and post by:

1) please be polite.........do not be rude
our users are all across the globe and english is a second language for some users

2) if a user or staff member is unable to help you PLEASE do not get angry!
we have a staff of 4 and many poeple who are willing to help

3) mild language is allowed because our forum is about a series of games that all have a "M" 17+ rating, but do not over do it

NOTE: if you post contains excessive swearing or slander, it is our right to edit or delete the post

ALSO NOTE: The language rules and "politeness" are also expected of all avatars and signatures. While language can be M17+, any graphics that are offensive will be removed and you may be banned from the site.

4) please be considerate of others and feel free to give positive reputation to a user who gave good advice
(To give others reputation, click on the justice scale icon on the top right hand corner of the user's post).

5) please do not ask to become a moderator or staff member
if we believe your assistance on the site is above and beyond the call of a regular member, we will contact you and ask if you would like to join our team

6) if a user is a persistent violator of the rules his/her account will be suspended and we reserve the right to ban any user for misbehavior at any time

TIPS
--------

Keeping this forum nice and tidy is a challenge, so I do have some advice for those looking for help in this case.

TIP #1-

Please look around at the thread titles before creating a new thread... Someone may have asked your question before somewhere else, and someone might have answered the question, so time waiting for someone to answer will be saved!

Moderators are constantly merging older threads that repeat the same question over and over, so please try to find a thread that is similar to yours first and post there. Old threads are also closed over time, so if a thread is closed, please create a new one

If you do not find a thread that matches your topic, please create a new one!

TIP #2- Please title your post with a descriptive title of some kind.

For example, a GOOD POST title would be something like : "What can I do with the Komawa tool?" or "Help me, I can't find the fingerprint on the bike!"...

A not so helpful title example would be something like: "Help I'm stuck" or "I hate this case!" or "Me"... These are not very helpful, and responders might not bother to read your thread as they do not know what you need help with. Adding evidence or a suspect name in the title helps.

It helps a lot to be very specific in your post, have a list of your evidence, suspects in interrogation, warrants, and locations as well as what you are unable to do/figure out. This helps us respond with specific steps to help you finish the case.

If you are an XBOX player, putting XBOX in the title helps too as it signals other XBOX players to your thread- then maybe you can help each other

TIP #3- Remember to be patient- this forum is read and used by users all over the world.

This is great because there could be someone on to help you at any time, and there are many different views of the game from all the different players. This is also great if you speak a different language than English [which seems to be the most prevalent language so far].

At the same time, there might be a delay between you posting and someone answering. A good estimate would be if you post a question one day, someone should have some sort of answer/feedback to you by the next day. This is not always the case, but a good estimate. Don't expect an answer 5 seconds after you post :P

and TIP #4- Please be polite in your post-

we know you might be frustrated with the case, but yelling and swearing isn't really nice and might cause potential answerers not to want to answer. Being careful with what you type and quickly checking for typos helps too.

Thanks for reading this and good luck with the game!
