Sounds very Clue like to me! I love that game and still play it on occasion.

Arrow The Future of CSI games

Kay,
I doubt it ! The original convo dealt with ideas on how to make the game better although CSI DoM is a step in the right direction. Memphis911 has the idea of having some sort of multiplayer function whereby a "host" would create a campaign of crimes and players would work together to solve them.(I can foresee that in the near future. However, by that time , it would be a CSI DVD multiplayer game.)
BallisticsBabe has the idea of gamers creating their own crimes and sending them to other gamers. That would require the usage of a File Transfer Protocol and a specific site at which everyone would go. Possibly even the usage of an intranet cord.

My comment was about your interactive DVD board game idea- there is one out for Clue as well as a Simpsons version. Hard to get though.

As for players creating their own crime cases and being able to share them, I think that is way in the future, especially if one would want it to be extremely successful. The majority of gamers now want graphics and such, which most players will not be able to have for their cases. If we are willing to give up the 3D graphics and voices, I could see FTP sharing like the sim-strategy games use... but to ensure a lot of case variation, the game developers would have to provide a lot of files that can be used/edited/transmogrified. [transmogrified is a term most Sims and tycoon gamers use for altering and cloning items]

All that doesn't stop the developers from creating expansion packs however- Maxis rakes in tons of money with all the Sims expansions and all the tycoon games are big money. I hope that sooner or later games like CSI "puzzle/simulation games" will clue into what RPG/sim games are doing!

Anyways, we're lucky to have the Forum based games hosted by Dangerzone and Johnster203 until then

Disappearance

By the way, what ever happened to BallisticsBabe and Memphis 911? It seems as if they just fell off the face of the earth! Anyone knows what's happened to them? Do they even know about the changes to the site??

What is your opinion of how Nick is drawn in CSI DoM?

What about Memphis's idea about there being a "host" that would create a campaign of crimes with the players working together to solve them?

Campaign crimes will still be a large amount of work to create- the creator might as well sell them in an expansion pack- can get more money for the amount of work that way... unless it is an online game that people pay to subscribe to play- there are a few Star Trek/Star Wars games out there that do that.

lets not forget about csi:la.............i am still keeping up with that now that i am not getting as many call outs **knock on wood**

telltale is making another game based on the sam and max cartoons, and they are going to do the game in season format..........like a tv show has a season
every week or two a new "episode" will be avalable for download online.........this would be a cool way to do the future csi games

Unhappy

I could see how that might come to pass, with people committing all kinds of horrible deeds.
