Who killed Jack Simmons?

I've played through all of the cases and found the golf shoe in the Judges study that was the murder weapon in case 2 but it doesn't tell you whose shoe it is! Are we to assume that this is Ron Preston's?

Aargh, I've uninstalled the game now.. I really don't remember getting another shoe in either case 2 or 5, the only shoeprint you work with is the Judge's to prove (along with the bottle of whisky and the note) that he was at the Cole house sometime...

Poseidon, you are going to have to enlighten me, I know it must be Ron Preston's because the only reason he didn't go to trial was they couldn't find the murder weapon to link him with, but I can't for the life of me think where the other golf shoe is!

EDIT: Wait a minute, was there some other evidence on the golf shoe apart from Jack Simmon's blood, like a fingerprint perhaps?

Yes but there was only a wrench or something in there.. I got the cut scene showing Ron hitting Jack..with his fist... unloosening the bolt on the light, etc So where does the shoe come into it?

At this point ,the only things to do are the following: re-visit all the locations and recheck thoroughly all your evidence. And then , if that doesn't work, take a brake and give your mind a rest. Don't press it. I t will come when least expected.

Well, six months later I have played the whole thing through again and although I now know that Judge Lawford arranged for Ron Preston's membership at the Palm Glen I still think there isn't a satisfying closure to case 2. Presumably we are supposed to infer that the golf shoe is presented as evidence in the Jack Simmons case and that it can be proved to be Ron Preston's somehow? If there was a print or something on there that categorically proved Preston had handled it then I guess that would seal the deal for me.

N.B The Golf Simulator in the Whiskey Bar? Is that supposed to show that Preston is a Golfer? Its a bit of a reach..
