Stuck. Please help.

Okay, this site has been very helpful for the other parts of this game (cases 1 &2) but for this one, the walkthrough is off for my game. I don't know if games are slightly different or what but half the stuff in the walkthrough I haven't been able to do when it came up. Anyhow, I am stuck after I've collected evidence from the trailer and I've already interrogated Adam. I have not been able to interrogate John, however. Here's the list of evidence I have:

Soil sample from site (red tagged)
Tire tread from site (red tagged and matched)
mDNA from victim (not red tagged)
Carpet fiber from victim (red tagged and matched)
Carpet fiber from Parlor (red tagged)
Tire tread from trailer (not red tagged)
Yolk from trailer (Red tagged and matched)
Blood from shovel (red tagged)
Old carpet fiber (red tagged and matched)
New carpet fiber (red tagged)
Adam Kilborns' DNA (red tagged and matched to statue)

Sinus scan (red tagged and matched)
SSA paper from Adam (red tagged)
Photo (not red tagged but looked at)

Glass from victim (red tagged and matched)
Arrowhead (red tagged)
Statue (red tagged and matched)
Axe (red tagged)
Watch (red tagged)
Glass from bat (red tagged)
Bat (red tagged)
Back up file (red tagged)
Birds nest (red tagged)

--Now, I've interrogated Adam but Brass will not allow me to interrogate John even though the carpets match, as do the tire treads and watch in the photo. I have tried talking more to all suspects and Doc but no one has anything more to add. I've restarted this case once already because I couldn't get any further but now I'm sorta frustrated because even my last hope (the walkthrough) proved fruitless. Please, help. I know this forum is old but I'm a little behind the trend.

I may be wrong on this cos I haven't played this game for a while but I think you're missing something else from the Trailer, isn't there a stain either on the wall above the washbasin or in the washbasin itself that you need to swab?

Thanks guys, I sprayed but I suppose I forgot to swab, this time around. Onto the next case!
