hints - what are they exactly?

ok how can i tell when i'm asking greg for hints and when i'm just asking him to anylize a piece of evidence? i understand that i need to give him dna samples and stuff for him to work with, but what about "items"? like in the first case there's a casette from the answering machine, the bracelet, the $20 bill, and the receipts. i don't know how to get little tags on these items without asking for hints!??! any help would be appreciated...i hope this post made sense

Greg doesn't give you "hints"- he just gives you information about the evidence. You want the evidence to have red tags on them- when you first pick it up, they are untagged, Greg will tag them and once you have figured out everything to do with that piece of evidence, the tag will go red. Therefore, annoy Greg all you want



You can only ask hints from the CSI you are working with, ie. Warrick, Grissom, Sara, Catherine or Nick. These are the "hints" or questions that will impact your case score.
