Dark Motives suddenly stops: cases not loading, crashing computer, black/white screen

Is anybody else having trouble with the game freezing? Every time I try to play the first game it freezes up. It seems to have something to do with the tools screen, especially the casting plaster and frame tool. Is there anything that will fix this?

I'm having a problem loading up the game. When I start up the game, I see the CSI logo screen, but can't get past that. It totally locks up my computer and I have to restart it to get out. Does anyone know why this is happining? I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling and the same problem occurs. Any help would be appriciated.

Need help I loaded the first CSI game and played all the way to case #5 and half of that, then all of a sudden when I go to play the screen goes blank and can't see anything. Has anyone else had this problem if so can you help me so I can finish the game. Also having same problem with Dark Motives game as well. Thanks armygal

Hi! I am a Dutch CSI-fan and have the 2 games. The first game I have played without problems, but I have installed Dark Motives and here the trouble begins. I installed CSI completely and the game starts running. Grissom starts telling about the CSI's and Willows is taking me to the crimescene. I am able to see the boy in the hospital bed, but when I go to the Casino Stunt Site, she tells a little story ('We have to look for inconveniences.' and then my computer restarts! I tried several times and it keeps happening, on the same moment. The game works right on my boyfriends computer, so I can play the game at his place, but I would like to play the game at my own place also. Can someone help me?

No I have other problems with starting the game.... Somethimes I can play after I tried to start the for 3 or 4 times.. sorry I can't help you. greezz

hi, i am running the original csi game on winxp, p4 2.5G, 512K ram, and the game causes my pc to reboot. it usually happens when using tools like dusting for prints, checking for blood, etc... i have 3 identical pcs here and have tried it on 2 different ones and have sporadic reboots on both.

I had to reboot the game sometime's too, not my computer... I can't play the first game too because it don't starts.. do you have the same problem??

I have been waiting since March for this 2nd game and now I get it.. Reformat my computer .. load my game and now anytime I have to quit and restart the game even when I've finished a case.. It won't load...It says I'm missing my "MOVIE" file..it doesn't exist...I have nothing on this computer except this game and my windows....my computer exceeds the maximum requirements...and this is the only file it ever says I'm missing even when I unistall and reinstall the game...I have downloaded the patch and nothing seems to fix this problem...took it back to the store and they are telling me to send it back to ubisoft...Well I want my game!!!!!!....Somebody ... Anybody...HELP ME PLEASE!!!!

This sounds like a permissions problem. Are you running Win XP Home or Pro? (or something else?) Did you install the game (and the patch) as administrator? Have you tried running the game as an administrator? Have you installed Direct X v9.0c (available from www.microsoft.com/directx ) Let me know if you've already tried these things....
