i am all for a style change

but i think that you should keep the white background
although everything else i would like to see a change in

i know that you can have a picture or logo as the background
and that you can lock the image in place and have everything else scroll by it (i see it on myspace all the time) you can even make the posts and windows semi-transparent so you can see the logo through the posts

and yeah things like fingerprints, murder weapons, and blood all fit into the the csi "style"

maybe you can make the new post status icons look like a gun.....and whenever there is a new post, have the slide draw back and have fire coming out the barrel....like the gun just went off

You will never see that anytime soon... I can assure you!

I think it's best to keep the background, etc. white- black is so overrated in terms of websites- so many are resorting to black now none of them stand out. Not to mention it can contradict any personal options any surfer might be using for their browser- some people choose to use a different colour for text, etc., an d if a user is visually impaired, black is not a good colour to use.

Maybe some CSI related smilies or something would be nice- icons that have more to do with the theme?

PS: the chat box I mentioned in the first post is sometimes called a "shout box". Many sites (like the one suggested by poseidon) require users to log in to see and use it.

how about an area called the lounge, a forum where people can talk off topic and have a friendly chat

and have a buffer built into it and only store 100 posts in the thread then have them be auto deleted

this maybe a better alternative it a live im sort of thing, but.... i still like the idea of a built in im

Yea, that section is called off topic. Users can create new topics and talk about anything.

Well, I don't see the point of it really. I mean, people would use the chat thing instead of posting on the off topic forum.

that's true- however, it depends on how much posting you want on the offtopic forum, with it all the way down at the bottom by itself. Also a tag board is more useful for short messages, while the off topic forum is for longer posts- eg. tag board would be more for hi how are you? messages while off topic more for my favourite show is, what is yours and why types of thing.

Another thing I miss is the country flags in the poster's info. Don't really know why!
