How to get 100%?- thread 1

I can't believe it I mastered case 5!! The frist time I tried it I was stuck BIG time. Came here and found the walk through, and read it only as far as I had made it in the case. Saw the one piece I was missing and went back. Finished the case the first time with like a seventy-something.
Soo I did it about 4 more times, getting as high as 98% one time. Couldn't for the life of me figure out what I was missing, I printed out the walk-through and followed it to the letter, well I got a 94%, did it AGAIN with the walk through and got a 96%, or vice-versa. Anyway at that point I had been sitting at the computer for ummm about 6 hours? I got up and walked away, of course I was still thinking about the game, .

When I returned I sat and thought "What am I doing different then the other cases?", then it dawned on me. I wasn't working them like the others. I was running around gathering all the evidence from both Leda's apt and the gardens then processing. So I went back and worked them one at a time.

First I worked Leda's apt, processed everything BUT the truck key and the casino chips. I mean come on car keys and casino chips are "common place" in LV, right?
I followed the evendence from the apt all the way through (to where you find out about her dad) then when she stared "I have nothing more to say". I went to the gardens.

OH side note, I did get the question for the Doctor's truck treads before I processed the gardens, so I DID NOT ask it at that time.

After getting everything from the gardens, I went and processed it EXCEPT the paint chip. Went to Brass and asked about the tread prints, compaired them and then gave the paint chip to Greg.

Then went to ask the "good doctor" about his truck. Instead of "Could Leda have taken it?" I got "Could your wife have taken it?". I went back and gave the "Large key" to Greg, then went back and asked the Doctor if Leda could have taken the truck. Went and had the APB issued, and questioned Leda about it.

While the ABP was out I went back and questioned the Gardener, Bert, the Doctor and Leda just to make sure I didn't miss any questions.
I even went back and tried putting everything under the microsope, the computer and giving everyting to Greg one more time.

Went to Brass got the Storage unit, and did the last bit about Grissom and Leda's dad before going to the Storage unit.

TAH-DAH!!


P.S. On the show I love the Catherine charater, but GEEEZZEEE in the game she sure does talk alot!!

I did the interrigations the way it said. But I didn't know there was a certain way to analyze the evidence. I've kind of given up on the game anyways. Maybe I'll go back and try to finish it in a month or so. You can only play the same case so many times before you get sick of it.

I printed your forum and decided to try again with your advice, stupid me I forgot a couple of things but tried it again and sure enough I have finally finished the game. Woo hoo! I, like you, tried the walkthrough but only got 96%. Must be something in the way you do it. Thanks Katla.

I'm thrilled you have finally mastered Case 5.

I have been playing case 5 over and over and over again and I still keep getting 97%

I have followed the walkthrough to the letter and EVERY time and still come up with 97%

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and patch with no success...
I am so frustrated I'm not sure what else I can do.

At one point I realized I hadn't used the Ninhydrin to dust for the prints on the newspaper article, thinking that was where I went astray...but it didn't help my ranking....still 97%

I have mastered the other 4 cases with 100% but this one!!! It's driving me crazy!!
Anyone have any ideas of what I'm still doing wrong ?

Congrats on finally mastering level 5! With the situation I'm in, I consider anyone who masters that level to be a genius*lol*

Something you mentioned might just be the key to helping get through it..Must go and try it !

I'm really enjoying the game. I can see I'll have fun replaying the cases to get to 100%

I am having trouble gathering evidence. For example, in Leda's apartment, there is a stain or a mark on the sofa. I have tried every tool available and can't get it to generate any evidence. Katherine keeps saying, "Try another tool." or something.

The same thing happens out at the botanical gardens with what I think are insect tracks.

What am I doing wrong?

i think i know what you mean by that, but did you try going trough all the tools to see which one works?

hi, i can only get 96% max in case 5.
whats missin, what are the points that are hard to find?
i got the one where you have to ask Mr Wilkinson about whether his wife could drive the truck.
are there any others?

well it is sometimes good to makes sure the person you interview has nothing to say. one time i went back to wilkinson and a question "could leda done it?" pop up i was shocked

also. in case 5 you get the partial print from the med bottle(case 1 evidence)
,photo album print and paper print

you must compare them to each other. all 3 of em

this site's guide is perfect and you should read it more slowly and carefully you'll see

it took me 3 tries to get case 5 100%

bonus isn't good too. wish they would give us a better bonus. an audio of the real life actors congraluting you would be nice

I got 100% for the first 2 cases, 97% for the 3rd and 92% for the 4th; I am still tackling case 5 .........
