Red face "Cross your t's"?!- what does the phrase mean?

Hey guys,

I don't have a question on how to get 100%, but I would like to know what the expression means that Brass uses. He says: "I'll cross your T's and dot your com's for ya." The dot-your-com's bit I get, but what does the first bit mean ? I suppose it's like "put the dot on the i" in Dutch, but is there any native speaker of English that could fill me in? Thanks!

Wink Dot your com's....

Your right is in a english expression similar to the dutch one you mentioned but it go...Don't forget to cross your t's and dot you i's, they have just added a new twist with the dot you com's as a play on words. This is one of the things that a lot none native english speakers would have a hard time understanding let alone get the joke. The phrase relates to fininshing something you have started, the last thing you do when writing is to go back and cross your t's and dot you i's. Hope this explanation is more helpful than confusing.

Post Thoroughness and computers

The phrase also makes allusion to computer people and also has reference to being very thorough.
