Hello to all users of CSIGamer!

In the past 6 months, there have been several fake accounts "registered" on our site, as well as many other sites that use the vbulletin forum program. Site staff has been doing our best in stopping the fake accounts from posting spam on the boards, and in most cases blocked the accounts from posting before they managed to do so.

Unfortunately, being human, we can not automatically tell whether accounts are authentic or not just by looking at them. So far, we have been noticing commonalities in the information the fake accounts have been entering during registration, and have done our best to only ban the fake accounts. However, it is quite possible for an actual user to enter this information, so it's not a fool-proof plan.

If you have received an infraction point or a warning message asking you to verify that your account is real, please do not be offended. If the message came from administration or moderator, it is an authentic message and we would very much appreciate a response [a quick hello would suffice] so that we can stop worrying that your account is not real.

DO NOTE: If you get what seems to be a warning message, but it is not from site staff [official staff names can be found in the staff biography thread in this forum], please let one of the moderators know IMMEDIATELY, as we can only hazard to guess what the fake accounts might do next. Please message site staff if you are ever harassed on the boards, or if you find a post that is spam. We will do our best to delete the spam as soon as possible and follow up with any warranted actions.

In closing I would highly suggest to not edit your email after email confirmation to a email-redirect address. Email addresses with .net, .org, web.de, mail.ua, or .info as these are more likely to be deemed as fake email addresses. If you do not want to be contacted by email, you can choose to not be contacted by email through the User Control Panel. Moderators are able to see your email address being changed, and we will notice when your email alters from being a "normal" address to a nonsensical one.
